Frequently Asked Questions
paint protection film - Aftercare
Will paint protection film protect my car from everything?
Paint protection film will protect your car from bugs, tree sap, bird droppings, oils, small stones, and gravel. We cannot guarantee that you will never have a stone chip. Larger stones, travelling at high velocity can be extremely damaging. Having paint protection film will protect against most small stones and road dust and can minimize the damage caused by larger stones.
Can paint protection film be removed?
Yes, it can but it should only be removed by a certified installer. A skilled technician usually can easily remove the film and clean the painted surface to like-new condition. Film that has been on for a long time may require heat to make the film more pliable and loosen the adhesive.
How long does it take for paint protection film to cure?
The time can vary depending on the surface and climate conditions. For most surfaces, please allow 24-48 hours before heavy usage.
How soon can I wash my car?
Do not wash or wax your car for the first seven days after the PPF installation. This is because the moisture between your car’s paint surface and the film is still evaporating, and the film has not yet adhered to the surface well. Any disturbance may interfere with the curing process.
